Audubon Park is located in historic uptown New Orleans and it is a wonderful spot for enjoying the nice spring weather. This oasis features ancient, moss-covered live oaks that people have enjoyed for more than 100 years. The park also features a 1.8-mile jogging path, a lagoon, playgrounds, and picnic shelters. The public can also take advantage of the park’s riding stables, tennis courts, soccer fields, pool, clubhouse café, and the Audubon Golf Club. The park is open daily from 5am – 10pm.
Louis Armstrong Park
Located on the edge of the French Quarter lies Louis Armstrong Park. This park is dedicated to the city’s most celebrated jazz musician, Louis Armstrong. The park is located in the Tremé neighborhood, which is the birthplace of many of New Orleans most famous jazz greats. Within the park lies the historic Congo Square. The park features duck ponds, sculptures, and lots of room to relax and enjoy the nice weather. The park also annually hosts Martin Luther King Day celebrations, festivals, and concerts.
New Orleans City Park
New Orleans City Park is located right in the center of New Orleans. This park is home to the largest collection of mature live oaks in the world and it is full of history. City Park is a great place to have a picnic, take a boat ride, fish, or feed the ducks. In the park you can also find the New Orleans Museum of Art and the New Orleans Botanical Garden. City Park is also home to the largest municipal golf facility in the South. No matter what you are into, City Park is guaranteed to have something for you. It’s another great place in the city to spend a sunny spring day.
