The building that houses Café Des Amis in downtown Beaux Bridge was originally constructed in the 1890s. Much of the décor found in this restaurant has a history that is connected to the town. Frenin’s in Thibodaux
The building that houses Frenin’s in Thibodaux was originally built in 1878. It was used by pharmacists and doctors for many years before the building was left in disrepair. In 1998, the Frenin brothers opened their restaurant in this location after preserving as much of the original architecture as possible. Today, guests are greeted with hot bread and flavored butters when they arrive. The menu features a mixture of Creole and Italian cooking. Some choices include char-grilled oysters, pinot nor beef tips, filet mignon and flounder roulade. This restaurant also has an extensive American wine list.
LOLA in Covington
The LOLA Restaurant in Covington is located in the city’s historic train depot with much of the original architecture preserved. This restaurant is celebrating its 10 anniversary after Hurricane Katrina forced the chefs to leave New Orleans. Guests to this restaurant find catfish, scallops and other Cajun favorites along with chicken and lamb on the menu.
